Champlain Bridge Rehabilitation, Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec
Bridge
The project involves the rehabilitation of the existing Champlain Bridge which runs over the Ottawa River. The project includes the full length of the Champlain Bridge (which includes 4 connected bridges and 1 trestle span with a total length of 1,100 m, 17.7m width) from the Sir John A. McDonald Parkway-Champlain Bridge intersection (Ottawa, Ontario) to the Boulevard Lucerne-Champlain Bridge intersection (Gatineau, Quebec). The project aims to rehabilitate the bridge deck of the Champlain Bridge to an acceptable condition that will ensure continuous public safety and access, and, will include: a) Targeted concrete repairs to top of deck b) Repave asphalt surface c) Install new permanent cycling-related safety measures (i.e. flexible bollards, line markings, thermoplastic decals, etc.). No in-water work is required as part of this project. Le projet consiste à réhabiliter le pont Champlain traversant la rivière des Outaouais. La réhabilitation s’étend sur la pleine longueur du Pont Champlain, qui inclue 4 ponts interconnectés et une travée de pont à chevalets, totalisant 1 100 m de longueur et d’une largeur de 17,7 m. Le pont rejoint la promenade Sir-John-A.-MacDonald (Ottawa, Ont.) au boulevard Lucerne (Gatineau, Qué.). Le but du projet est de réhabiliter le tablier du pont afin de conserver son intégrité et d’assurer le maintien de la sécurité public. L’étendu des travaux inclus : a) réparations de béton ponctuel du tablier, b) remplacer le revêtement en asphalte, et c) fournir des améliorations de sécurité permanentes pour les cyclistes (borne flexible, lignes de marquage, signalisation, etc.) Aucuns travaux dans l’eau de la rivière n’est prévu lors de ce projet.
